Baby Update: 35 weeks

I just got back from an ultrasound appointment and both boys are doing GREAT!

Baby A is 5lbs, 2oz and has lots of hair. Very rare in my family so we know he takes after his Dad. It was fun to see spikes of hair flip around as he was moving. So cute! His head is in my left ribs and his little feet are constantly kicking my bladder, especially when it's full. He thinks that's great!

Baby B is 5lbs, 3oz and from what we can tell is bald so he takes after me. I was bald until I was 2. His head is in my Right ribs and his feet are kicking his brother in the head (very brotherly of him) or has his foot by his head which happened several times during the ultrasound today. He already loves yoga.

Since Baby A is breech I have to have a c-section which is currently scheduled for the morning of July 6th which would put me at 39 weeks and 1 day. That is 4 weeks away, do you think I can make it? I already have over 10 pounds of baby in me, is it even possible to grow more? haha!

I just need to make it through our move this weekend and our Wards Annual Garden Party next Tuesday that i've been planning and then I can sleep until the boys get here!

This is us. The Wrights. We're awesome. I'm large and in charge, and almost 32 weeks pregnant with twin boys. If you could see what i'm holding in my right hand you would see a giant mug filled with the most delicious strawberry milk shake ever made. D is almost a 2nd year resident (this past year FLEW by) and is the genius behind the strawberry milkshake. Bear is cute & likes to snuggle. I didn't even put him in that position, he just loves to snuggle with his brothers.Funny Pregnancy Stories (PS I'm not complaining one bit, I actually think this is a very fun process and laugh at all of the weird things that happen. It's life & I love it!):

Last night I layed down on the floor, on my left side, and got stuck. I couldn't roll onto my back because I would get a shooting pain in my back & couldn't roll onto my stomach because I'm large and it didn't work. So D grabbed my hand and hoisted me up. Another fun fact about yesterday was we were touring an apartment complex and I noticed my shoe was untied, so in the middle of the tour I stopped the guy giving us the tour and D tied my shoe because I can't bend down anymore. He also now paints my toe nails. D is my hero.

I went to visit my family in Arizona a couple of weeks ago and my feet swelled up so much it looked like I had elephantitis. When we flew home they swelled up even more and after I got off the plane I didn't have any range of motion in my feet so ended up shuffling around instead of walking.

My fingers now look like small balloon animals.

I now snort when I laugh which makes me laugh even harder.

My sister broke her foot so I went to help her out this week. We went to target, twice, and she used a mobilized cart. The first time the cart was really slow and I could waddle next to her. The second time the cart was faster and I had to waddle really fast to keep up with her, laughing the entire time. We were a site to see! She saw one of her friends there and told her, "You know you're in trouble when your 8 month pregnant sister, with twins, comes to take care of you." It made me laugh.

The other night around 9:45pm I really wanted two hard taco supremes from taco bell. I looked up online where the nearest taco bell is, because I never eat taco bell, and hopped in the car. It wasn't there, the website lied. So I drove around for a while and couldn't find another location so came home defeated. And I cried. When you can't fulfill a craving it is a sad, sad day.

Other foods I crave:

7-11 cherry slurpees

Oranges

Watermelon

Cheddar Cheese. If that cheese is dipped in pickle juice it's even better. ha!

Strawberries

Subway sandwiches on Italian herb and cheese bread

Root Beer

Milk

Donavon's strawberry milkshakes. They really are divine. Maybe that's why I've gained so much weight.

Backstory: I am allergic to concentrated Oranje Juice (or OJ as we call it in our house), but if I juice an orange then i'm fine.

Story: We have settled on the names Owen and Jude, but when we were first talking about names this is the conversation I had with D

D: Hey, if we name then Owen and Jude when we want them to both come at the same time we can just yell O.J.!

K: ha! That is so great, wait I'm allergic to OJ. Unless it's freshly squeezed.

D: Oh, they will be freshly squeezed!

K: haha! Done. It's Owen & Jude, hahahaha!

When I want some loves from them I will call them my cup of J.O.

These boys are moving so much sometimes I think they are training to be UFC fighters. They are just currently training in a smaller cage.

Right now baby A has his head in my left rib cage and is tap dancing on my bladder. It is a very weird feeling and has me running to the bathroom frequently. Whenever I drink a strawberry milkshake he dances even more.

Baby b currently has his head in my right rib cage with his feet on his brother's head. Or kicking his brother in his head, which he often does during the ultrasound. What a bully! See? UFC.

I sneezed in Target the other month and wet my pants. It was the first and I hope only time it happens. It made me laugh, and then snort, and luckily you couldn't tell.

I am very close to not being able to turn around in my shower. We either have a freakishly small shower or I am just VERY large. I'm going with the first option.

I love being pregnant but and so excited to meet these little guys!

The summer before we were married D worked in La Jolla installing security systems. He had a beater car and was planning on getting a new one at the end of summer until his car caught on fire...at this intersection. HAHA! Everyone was fine and there just happened to be a tow truck behind him who had a fire extinguisher to put the fire out. Talk about luck! Every time he tells this story I laugh really hard...1. whose car catches on fire, and 2. whose car catches on fire in La Jolla! haha! I'm glad he was ok!

Donavon was only able to spend just over 24 hours in SLC because he had to go back to work...booo!!!!!...but I was able to spend a little more time with the fam enjoying the cold/sometimes snowy weather. One thing on our to-do-list while we were all there was to go sledding, so we went to a great little place near Brighton right after a HUGE snowstorm and it was beautiful! We had so much fun and we all loved racing down the hill all praying we wouldn't hit a giant jump while on a tiny saucer. I forgot how much I love sledding! I guess that's what happens when you live in the valley of the sun!

Christmas time in Utah

We all gathered in Utah for my parents 40th Wedding Anniversary for Christmas this year. We had not all been together in a very long time. In fact the last Christmas we were all together we all got extremely sick...and it happened again! I think everyone either had the stomach flu or had a really bad cold, disaster. In spite of all of that we still had a blast and I would do it again in a heartbeat. My parents had a fun party with family at the Lion House in SLC and my sisters made a great slide show of their lives together, I think I cried through the whole thing!

The cousins thought it would be fun to have a big sleepover in the basement so every night they would go get in their sleeping bags and Grandpa would come and read them stories and my brother Tim would play Christmas songs on his guitar and sing to them. It was so fun seeing them together

James thought it would be more fun to run around and be "jazzy". He was probably right

So he would come upstairs and hang out with the adults until the wee hours of the morning. Have you ever been to AwkwardFamilyPhotos.com If you haven't it is a MUST! We looked at the entire website one night and laughed so hard there were several trips to the bathroom.

My Mom loves fishing booths so every time we get together we can always count on going fishing for some goodies. The kids LOVED it and couldn't believe that all they had to do was put the swiffer mop over a curtain and they would get a present!!! All I can say is Awesome! Here is D showing us his mad fishing skills

Bear would go back & forth underneath the curtain and one time Molly said, "ahhhh, loook. Beao looks like a brride!" haha!

One of my favorite parts was piling on the couch, watching the fire and singing christmas songs. Can't get any better than that!

The Saturday after Thanksgiving we went with with D's family + some cousins to Monterey to eat some of the BEST clam chowder at The Fish Hopper, and then to the beach at Carmel to play! We had a ton of fun, despite the dead rotting smelly seals that unfortunately passed away on the beach by where we were camped out.

We had a great Thanksgiving this year at Donavon's Aunt & Uncle's house in San Jose. His parents and little sister were able to come down from Oregon and his brother & Grandma flew in from Utah. The food was AMAZING and after we were stuffed to the brim we went to a local park to burn off some calories. We had a great thanksgiving this year!

This was from last SPRING...better late than never. This is when my sister Amy & her family came into town. We went to the wildlife zoo with my Mom, and Monica and the boys. Here are some of the cute pictures.

I love this below picture. These boys are ALWAYS on the move when they are together and mischief is always close behind. I miss these guys!

My parent's have a player piano and we were listening to Sound of Music. James (the smaller one) would lift up his shirt and go up to the older boys trying to belly bump them. It was really funny, especially when he would run at them full force like the picture below. Both boys would go flying!

I was in Guatemala for two weeks on a medical mission. It was awesome. We saw close to 4000 patients. We worked hard and got to do a little sight seeing while I was there. While I was gone K had a reunion with some of her old college roomates. Here are some pictures from my trip and some from K's weekend of fun. View from the top of Volcano Pacaya. You can see the top of three other volcano's in the distance.
This was at a coffee plantation. They lay the processed beens out on these large tile slabs to dry in the sun.

Volcano Fuego. This volcano puffed about every 5-10 minutes. This is a view from our clinic one day.
We hiked this active volcano pacaya. It was really cool, and pretty hot.
This is the whole group of doc's and students that we went with. The first week we stayed at a convent and the Madre is front and center in this photo.
This is in Antigua. The city colors were beautiful.
Lots of foot problems in Guatemala. They got a lot of joint pains. Can anyone guess why?

I was lucky enough to have some of my best friends come visit the other weekend. We had SO much fun together, and I love that no matter how much time we spend apart when we have a reunoin it's like we just saw eachother yesterday! Merry Christmas

All I wanted for Christmas this year was a fort that we could wake up and watch Christmas movies in. I woke up and found this downstairs. We lounged around all morning in the cozy tent and watched Elf and Family Stone. It was a GREAT present and I know that we will always remember this Christmas. I have a WONDERFUL husband.

Newport

Our favorite family restaurant in Newport is The Crab Cooker. When my Mom was young she use to go there with her family, so when we started taking trips to California my Mom decided to carry on the tradition. And boy are we every glad she did! We always take pictures by the side of the restaurant after we eat so we have may throughout the years. I especially love this years pictures. We just wished that my brother and his family were with us! We missed you guys!

We had such a fun December this year. It started off great when we went to Disney with some family. We left early in the morning and didn't get home until around 2 AM.

Every time my sisters and I get together we end up having some of the same clothes. It happened again with Laurie, here we are in our matching shirts. PS, it was very early and I'm not a morning person, hence the tired look on my face, and the soldier stance.

One tradition we have when we go to Disney is to get turkey legs. WE LOVE THEM and Emily kept asking for one so my sister finally got her one. Molly fell asleep while I was holding her in line for a ride, and stayed asleep the whole ride plus more! I couldn't believe it. She was sitting on my lap during the ride her body was like a limp noodle. I finally had put my arm around her head so she would stop falling forward. The picture below is of her just waking up, she was really out of it and was saying some of the funniest things. I kept taking pictures of her and she finally said in her cute eloquent, Darth Vader voiced Molly way, "Krithten, would you plese stop taking my pictore?" OH, my heart melt, she is so cute. This is on one of our favorite rides at California Adventure. We went on it about 8 times that day. (I was riding with my Dad during this picture) In line for our favorite ride. I don't know the real name of it but we called it the Toy Story ride. It's a 3D interactive ride and you play carnival games. Super fun. This is the ride Molly fell asleep on and I was trying to play while holding her up. It was difficult, and very funny.

The girls were so good all day! We had so much fun with them. We even got Emily to go on a roller coaster with us and she loved it! She was screaming (with delight) and held her arms up in the air the whole time. By the end of the day all the girls were so exhausted she fell asleep while Donavon carried her out. It was so cute! PS, yes they did wear their hats almost all day. What's Disney without them?My sister and I weren't tired so while everyone else left we went back to Disney (we were at California Adventure) and stayed until Midnight. Because there were parades and fireworks we walked right onto some of the rides! It was perfect, and we got to ride all the major rides one more time before we left. Here is the castle all decked out for Christmas. The last trolley ride back to the hotel was at Midnight and we missed it! So we ended up walking back to the hotel, and it was definately an adventure walking on the streets of Anaheim so late at night. That night we were staying in Newport and on the drive there we were so tired! But we got there safely and were geared up for Newport fun the next day.

We had a great Thanksgiving this year. Amy, Brien & Colin (plus the two pups) AND Tim, Monica, and the two boys all bunkered down at my parents house and we had BLAST. We all ate WAY too much food, watched weird Christmas movies (it is either hit or miss with ABC Family Christmas Movies), had our first experience at Cracker Barrel (YUM), took individual family pictures, and saw Twilight 3 times. We couldn't have had a more perfect few days.

Not too long ago I took Bear for a walk and felt something wet on my sandal, and figured I just stepped in some water. Then I remembered I live in AZ and there usually aren't any puddles so I took my shoe off and found this little creature. Lovely. (I took this picture on my cell phone so if you can't see what it is it is a squished cricket!)

On to the update! Donavon finished his book study part of med school!!! He started his first rotation last Month here in Phoenix. He is home A LOT more now and even better when he is home he isn't studying!! We even watched a movie during the week together! I know, pure excitement! That has not happened in 2 years! He has been working in the VA hospital for the past two weeks and has some really funny stories when he comes home. Who knew being a Doctor could provide such entertainment! A big shout out to Tony M for showing D the ropes!

We also have heard where we will be during our 4th year! During his 4th year he visits 4 residency programs around the country for 1 month each and then has a 6 month core rotation at another residency program. So drum roll please, here is where we will be:

June: Denver

Nov - Jan: San Francisco!

The rest of the year we will be here in Phoenix for his core.

I can't believe we are already in his 3rd year! It has gone by so fast in no time at all we will be a Doctor! Crazy!

Halloween Adventures

Well, Happy Belated Halloween! This year Donavon went as a Podiatrist (easy costume), and I went as a foot. haha, we are so creative. This is a HORRIBLE picture of us (I think in the history of D&K), but it is the best one we have in our costume.

Our camera wasn't working so I was being the model for D while he figure it out. Hmmm...maybe model is the wrong word here. More like scary looking wife who looks like a deer in the headlights thanks to the flash. This year my Dad was a Chef, and my Mom was a witch. I love her socks

Tim and the Fam came up for the festivities and they had the cutest costumes! James was a dragon & Matthew was a knight.

We went to a Halloween party earlier in the week and made werewolf cupcakes. Donavon was my sous-chef and did a great job! He was in charge of everything but the frosting the cupcakes. When we mixed the coloring in the frosting I though it looked too dark so I started adding some other colors to it and they turned out dark purple! OH well, they are still dang cute!

We stayed at my parent's house the other weekend to watch their dogs while they are were out of town. When my parent's dogs and Bear get together they always get into trouble. I got home from work one day and Bear had a big piece of tape stuck to him. I searched all over for the role of tape and couldn't find it anywhere. We call the 3 dogs the gang because that is exactly what they are! We came home another night and they ate a bag of white chocolate chips with red and green swirls. Later that day all 3 of them were throwing up and one of the piles had part of a lizard in it! Gross! Although they are kind of crazy we still love them!

That is Suzie's face to the right of the picture. She treats Bear like her child, it's really cute. She'll bring him food and if Lola, my parent's other dog, is being mean to Bear she'll jump in. That is why Suzie is in this picture. She thinks I'm being mean to cute Bear.

What the Hail?

When we got back we were greeted with a HUGE monsoon storm. There was so much lightening that I felt like paparazzi were outside our window. We woke up after midnight because the thunder sounded like someone banging on a cookie sheet and then it started to hail. We turned on the TV because I was worried about tornadoes (there were warnings earlier in the day) and they said the worst of the storm was where the 101 and 51 hit...which is right by our house but there were no tornado warnings. So, I put a pillow over my head and was asleep in 2 minutes. I LOVE monsoon season. We don't get rain too often, but when we do we soak it up! Here is a picture of our backyard. Can you see the hail? It's pea size but I promise it's there.

Road Trippin it to OR

We took off a couple of weeks ago and went to visit D's family in Oregon. Not everyone could get together for Christmas this year but were able to at this time. So everyone was there (minus Keith who is on his Mission in France) It was so great to see everyone! We went rafting down the Rogue river on Saturday and saw a Bear and an bald eagle. It was so cool! And it was so beautiful! It was like a blanket of pine trees and it smelled so wonderful! I want to go back! On Monday we went on a Jet Boat trip down the river. http://www.hellgate.com/Splash/ If anyone is ever in Grants Pass you have to go on this. The boat only needs 8 inches of water to go so they take you over all of the rapids and through a canyon called Hellgate. It is beyond beautiful. Speaking of Beautiful...look at this cutie below! Hubba hubba, wooooo hooooo ho, grrrrr! Oh woops, did I just type that?We had D's sister Cherali and her little girl Averi with us. She is SO darling! Cherali is due the end of this month with #2 Dexter Cash. Cute! And yes, I'm walking bear with yarn. We couldn't find his leash, yarn works just as good. We went frisbee golfing when we were OR. Spencer & Jasmin came down to visit us! It was so fun to see you guys!

Park Fun

On our way to Oregon to visit Donavon's family we made a pit stop in Sacrament to visit my sister and her cute family. We ate Chinese food, watched the Olympics and stayed up late eating ice cream. What could be better. The next morning we took the girls to the park.

Donavon taught Emily how to throw a frisbee. She got really good at a tomahawk throw. Molls loved playing

Heidi liked to play hide and seek with me. She's not so keen on smiling yet, but she sure is cute!!

This flower is in my sister's yard! Can you believe it? Just to let you know the squiggly part of the flower is not soft. That was my first question. I want these flowers in my yard!

Congratulations to the students of the Arizona Podiatric Medicine Program Class of 2010 who took the Part 1 National Board Examination in July. EVERYONE PASSED! Infestation

There has been a big bug infestation here in Arizona. Maybe that is just my opion, but man, they are everywhere! Here are some of our bug adventures that we've had in the last month.

Tim and Monica (brother and his cute wife) and their family bought a house down in Gilbert. We are so sad that they are moving but glad they aren't too far away. D and I went down the other weekend with Tim to go look at the house and do some cleaning. He brought some bug killer because he said there was a bee's nest outside their front window. When we got there there were so many bees it looked like this!! And not only were they ginormous bees, but they were Africanized (also known as KILLER BEES)! Scary!

I'm sorry this picture doesn't do it justice but there were THOUSANDS, ok maybe hundreds but still! I have never seen so many bees in my life. D took this picture on his camera phone so the quality isn't great, but you get the picture. Then the neighbor came over and told us that during the storm the previous evening they were swarming around the front yard and they were worried they would start attacking people so they called the exterminator but because the house didn't belong to anyone in the neighborhood they couldn't come out! We could tell right away that the little household spray wouldn't cut it, so Tim called the exterminator to come over and about 45 minutes later we were all outside sitting in our car watching the exterminator who was dressed from head to toe in bee gear spray all the bees. It was actually fun to watch and man did those bees hate him. The update now is there are no bees and the neighborhood is happy. Few!

I was laying in bed last Saturday when Donavon got back from a walk with Bear. He told me when they were walking bear starting digging at something and then jumped back really quick and started batting at his nose. D looked down to see what was wrong and there were ants all over his face. When he got home he put him up on the bed with me and told me he was going for a run. After he left I reached for Bear to scratch under his chin and I noticed that his whole face was swollen! This is another cell phone shot so it's not so great, but his face was huge! You can usually see his little under bite. Nope, not now he looked like he was playing chubby bunny. I didn't know what to do so I called my parents and they told me to give him a Benadryl. It worked and now he's back to normal. I felt so bad for him!

Infestation at work! And the culprit is...the Paloverde Root Borer...These giant, black beetles can be up to 3 1/2 inches (8.9 cm) long. I came downstairs one day at work and noticed a HUGE beetle that someone had sprayed bug killer on (and then left it there to slowly die...so sad!) I mean this sucker was big. The next day when I came in there were two more, just as big as the first one, again sprayed with bug killer to slowly die and then these little ones in the corner of the door also sprayed to slowly die. I went downstairs at the end of the day to take a picture of the big ones but someone already moved it. I resorted to a picture of these little lovelies.

But this is what they look like when they are big.

And this is what's left of one of the beetles at the bottom of the stairs. Yes, those are the part of the beetle that covers's it's wings...And they are still stuck on the ground...along with some of the bug killer spray. I just checked the picture info on my phone and the above picture was taken on July 8. The below bug was killed the day before (July 7)...I just took that picture today...Lovely.

I just got back from D.C. Had a great time. Chilled with 'Bama and McCain. (not really) Had a lot of meetings but was able to slip out and see some of the sights. These are a few of my favorite pics I snapped. Above the Washington Monument and below the Vietnam Memorial. D.C. is a very cool place to visit.

Hello all. Here is an update on our busy lives.

Donavon had the last 3 weeks off school!! We had so much fun together looking at cars, going out to eat, watching movies, watching the play offs, and laying out by the pool. It was very relaxing and I loved that he didn't have to study at all!! It was wonderful.

During the break my Grandma Ginny passed away. All the kids in my family were able to go to the funeral and remember her wonderful life that she lived. I love this picture of her. I think she looks so beautiful! We will miss her a lot but I am so grateful for the gospel of Jesus Christ and knowledge I have knowing we will see her again someday. My Grandpa died over 10 years ago so whenever I get sad I just think of their reunion. How wonderful for them!

Donavon is now in Washington DC for a school meeting...boo! But he will be back on Sunday afternoon...YAY! He called me today and said he lobbied around DC today with other classmates on some issue regarding podiatry. I'm not exactly sure what they lobbied, but I think that is pretty cool that he had the opportunity to do something like that. As for me, everything is the same. As you can tell by the post time at the bottom I am really busy at work. I have done a lot of journal writing, and have taken it upon myself to clean and organize the entire upstairs office. I wish I were busier, but hopefully it will pick up soon. I still love photography and have taken so many pictures that it filled our hard drive on the computer! I didn't even know that was possible. So I don't have a lot of pictures right now to post because we moved all the pictures onto the hard drive. D took the camera with him so when he gets back we will post some. My Mom was called to be the first counselor in YW so that means we get to be together! I remember when she was my YW leader and now we are teaching together. Crazy to think about but we are both really excited about it! I was also called to be the ward photographer. haha! It is totally a made up calling but I'm actually really excited!

It is already hotter that H-E double hockey sticks here in AZ and sometimes when I get in the car after work I feel like I'm going to melt. Not a good feeling. The other afternoon my car said it was 114...far too hot if you ask me. And unfortunately this is only the beginning of summer, so you know it is just going to get worse. My parents pool has provided some nice relaxing Saturday afternoons. We are both looking forward to the day when we see spring flowers and everything is green instead of brown and poky. (although I have really grown to love cacti.)

On a final note, I found this super cute picture on a blog the other day. It is a pig in England who was afraid of the mud, so his owners bought him some wellies!! I couldn't get over how darling he looks just trudging through the mud.

Happy Mother's day to all the Mother's out there, especially the two that are closest to my heart. I love you both and am so grateful for you. My Mom gave a talk during church today about Mother's and I think I cried during the whole thing. When I think about all the wonderful things she has done for me I am truly overwhelmed with love. I am so incredibly grateful to have such wonderful, strong women in my life and I will love you both for eternity (so will Donavon.)

P.S. I know the above picture is of Tim and not me but I couldn't find a picture of the two of us together! I need one for sure!

One of the many reasons I love our Mac is the Photo booth. There is a camera at the top of the computer that takes pictures and it has a ton of different fun settings you can that you can choose from. I was looking through the pictures from our Photo Booth the other day and found some of these...plus some new ones I added after I looked through them. If you don't have a Mac I suggest you get one for this sole purpose. You won't regret it. I guarantee it (say in the men warehouse voice)

This is where D got my ring....AHHH Cute!
So when Donavon's dad was in Dental school in Portland they rented a house across the street from a Mausoleum. He was hired on to be the guard at night and if the alarm went off he would go over and see what was up. Donavon would always talk about it so when we decided to go check it out. It was fun walking through because D would say he remembered certain things about being there and then we would run right into them. Like the fountain, or the huge staircase. I have to admit though, it was pretty creepy. There were parts that were really dark, and it was too quiet. We kept finding more hallways and at one point we got a little lost it. It was like a huge labyrinth. We found the elevator and when we hit the button we could hear this eerie creeping, thudding, griding noise and we all looked at each other like, oh great. we're going to die. Donavon even said, " and this is how they get their business." it was pretty creepy and if you know me at all I'm even surprised at myself that I got on that thing! All in all it was an experience and a half but it was a lot of fun!

We went on an ATV ride through the Island. It was a BLAST! We were so dirty by the end of the ride but it was worth every second. We rode through an old sugar cane plantation and up to a waterfall. We also went to a part of the island that Jurassic Park was filmed. We even saw a REAL DINOSAUR! I promise it was real, and we weren't laughing in the picture either. We are showing pure fear.

The picture below was taken at an entrance of a tunnel that goes through the Mountain. We couldn't get over how pretty this was.

The next few days we went to visit a light house on the south side of the Island. As you can see it is out on a peninsula so there is water all around you. This time of the year you can see whales jumping all around you. It is very cool.

We found this guy in our BED! OK, just kidding. He was hanging out at the lighthouse. I though for sure he would jump and me and inject his scary venom and I would die but he just hung out quietly. I like Hawaii spiders, they are nice.

HAWAII! The first few days

This last week D and I went to Hawaii (Kauai) with my parents. It was SO much fun! We couldn't even remember the last time we went on a vacation together for more than a weekend! We both decided that it was the summer before we even met...so sad. So anyway, it was well deserved! We landed late Friday night and stayed until late the next Friday. We played hard and explored the beautiful Island. It is called the Garden Island and we could see why. It was gorgeous! The middle of the Island is the wettest spot on earth and rains more than 400" of rain a year. There are rivers everywhere and in 1992 there was a hurricane that released chickens on the island, so there are also chickens everywhere...and I mean everywhere! And the islanders say that their chickens are dumb because they don't know when to crow so they crow all day long. It's the truth, but the trip wouldn't have been the same without them. Donavon said I took too many pictures of the chickens but I say you can never have too many.

The first few days we explored the Island. Thy have a mini Grand Canyon and it was so beautiful. We stopped at McDonalds in the morning to get breakfast and then headed up the canyon. By the time we were half way up we all felt so sick (partly because of the breakfast and partly because of the drive) that we stopped at a quick lookout, took in the sights and then headed back down. The next day we drove around the island to take in some new sights. So that is what these pictures are. Enjoy and more to come soon!!

Ok, this isn't really our dog. We dog sat him last November. His name is Arnold. Kind of a soft name for a pit bull hua! He secretly really freaked me out but he was very nice. I took him for a walk around our neighborhood alone and I did not get scared ONCE. That is pretty good for me.

No really though we are getting a dog. He is a mutt and the cutest one at that! I'll post pictures when we go to pick him up this weekend.

After we opened presents we headed over to my parents house for a brunch. My Mom gets my Dad a toy every year and this year he got a helicopter! It is so cool! While the girls congregated int he kitchen, the boys congregated in the living room and played. Every time it crashed we would hear all the boys laughing. It was really funny. It was like they were all 10 again. Matthew got Hungry Hungry Hippo from my parents and it quickly turned into a tournament. It was fun to play, I haven't played that game since I was a kid.

Christmas day was SO fun this year. Santa was very good to us. This was our first Christmas we had that was just the two of us. We are usually with family, but it was so fun running downstairs together (yes, running) and opening our presents. Donavon even got up in the middle of the night and filled our stockings with some sweet treats! So, Donavon's wedding ring is now a little too small for him so I decided to get him a new ring. I thought he might feel a little sissy opening a ring for Christmas so I decided to play a trick on him. I went to Target and got a HUGE Man ring, took his real ring out of the box the store wrapped, put the man ring in and wrapped it back up. He opened it and saw and said, "Oh...(and then paused for a while) a ring...Thanks."
I love his fake smile here. It's like he has no idea what to say. I'm sure he's thinking right now, oh my gosh, i have to wear this huge thing around!

Fancy! Right after this picture I told him it was a fake and got him the real one, but it sure was fun tricking him!! I'm such a tricky wife!

The weekend of the aprons!

So this year, I decided to make aprons for gifts. My sister was getting her girls a play kitchen and asked if I could make them all aprons. Then I saw a picture on the internet of an apron that looks like a santa suit and HAD to make them for some family members. I had been very busy with work/church calling and other things I was trying to get done down the house and then I got sick. So basically I had 1 weekend to make 8 aprons and it took me two full days, but I was so glad I made them because they turned out SO cute! I was so sick of the aprons I made for my sister and her girls that I didn't take a picture of them, but she said she will be sending some pictures soon so I can post them.

A Christmas Outing Part 1

The other week we went down to Gilbert and Mesa to visit our Hughes cousins. We breakfast for dinner and it was delicious! Then it was off to the temple to see the lights.

My cousin Katie made this! I am determined to make this by next Christmas. Here we are in front of a HUGE lemon tree. We took a ton of pictures and this was pretty much the best one that turned out. I am debating on this to be our Christmas card this year.

We had so much fun this year in Utah for Thanksgiving. WE had Donavon's 3 brothers, Grandma Wright, 1 Wright cousin (Alicia,) and 1 Shelley cousin (Daniel.) This was my first big Thanksgiving that I have done and I must say that it turned out pretty well. Thanks everyone for coming!

New Bikes

So we got some new bikes a couple months ago and we finally had some time this weekend to go get them from my parent's house. Donavon got a road bike so he could go long distances. Tonight we road to Tim and Monica's house and we all road to my parent's house for dinner. We felt like a biker gang riding through the neighborhood. It was so fun and we could eat as much as we wanted during dinner because we knew we were getting exercise! It's a win win.

Look at this scary picture! MONICA, YOU 'RE A GH...GH...GH...GHOST! Here is my Mom's halloween costume. She was one of the people who show dogs at those big dog shows. She even ran around in a circle with the dog dragging behind her. It was hilarious!
Here she is with my Dad, he was a newspaper printer man. His shirt said Times Mirror. Suzie (the dog) was just waiting for my Mom to drop that dog so she could get it!

And off she goes. Look at that dog's form. You can just tell that he is of good breed and his teeth are in immaculate condition. That dog is sure to win the Eukanuba best in show!

So the plan was to have our traditional Halloween spook dinner on Monday night. On Friday night my Mom found out that my Dad was going to be out of town on Monday so we decided to have our dinner that night. We had to come up with costumes last minute so I am a scary bride (notice the machete...EEKS!) and Donavon is a Melaleuca customer. When I worked for Melaleuca they gave us all jump suits and I got one for D. Fancy!
That knife got old so I decided to be the run away bride instead.

My sister Amy and her little boy Colin came to AZ a few weeks ago. We were so excited to have them here! They live in San Diego, Ca and had to evacuate because of the fires but their house was just fine. We just wish that my brother in law Brien was able to come and join in on the fun too. One afternoon we went over to the Desert Ridge Marriott to take some pictures of Colin. He is such a cute kid! We had a fun photo shoot so have fun looking at the pictures!

And the most wonderful thing happened, the one and only Jonathan Taylor Thomas walked by the door and said hi. I about died! It was a wonderful day!

Baseball Season

Midwestern had their intramural baseball games these past couple of weeks and the 2nd year podiatry students were the champions! It was so fun to go to the games and watch these guys play. Donavon is so good! He could wack that ball out of the park like you wouldn’t believe! Congratulations team, and I’m so proud of you honey!

Some of the other wives came with their kids and I couldn’t believe how dirty these kids could get. They were so funny to watch. The very last game one of the little girls came in her Cinderella PJs with mismatching dress up heals. Oh, I was laughing so hard…I can’t wait to have kids, they totally crack me up.

Our house is DONE! Yes, that's right. We had the walk through on Friday and next Friday we move in! I already have a full weekend planned of painting! Some people think it's weird, but I love to paint and I can't wait to get started. We don't have any pictures of our finished house but i'll take some soon and post them.

I work for a company that liquidates hotel furniture and they have two showrooms here in AZ. You can get the furniture for pretty cheap but if you are an employee you can get if for a steal of a deal. I got a sleeper sofa and a chair and ottoman (all recovered with new foam, so they are like brand new) for...well lets put it this way...I also got a very cute new red cabinet from Pier 1 and used their designer discount plus some other things ALL UNDER $1,000.00!! I am so proud of myself. When everything is in the house and set up I'll post some pictures. Right now everything is crammed in the basement and the garage so the pictures wouldn't be so great.

Donavon is rocking it in school this year. I couldn't be more proud of him. He still studies like a mad man and on test days he gets up at 3AM and is at school by 4AM...that is AM people! I make fun of him because he is not even getting up in the early morning, it is still the middle of the night! He is crazy but his view is this, this is his last year of studying so he better make it count. And does he ever. The 3rd year is clinical rotations, and the 4th year is externships around the US.

Well, that is pretty much what we have been up to the past month. Happy fall everyone!

Becky & Ryan Facer and their cute baby Oliver came to visit before they headed off the Utah for shool. We had fun hanging out and watching The Office and catching up on old times.

Well, we finally have paint on our house (Inside AND Out!) This is a really exciting day for us all. We also still have the port-a-potty in front of our house. We are hoping they will keep it there so we can have an extra bathroom. Hey it has hand sanitizer in it, I mean what more could you ask for! We were like little kids the other day running through our house to see how it is coming along. We are both very excited to have our very own little place.

Here is our backyard. Spacious huh! We are thinking about setting up a target on one end and getting paint ball guns so we can get in some targt practice. Just kidding, that would be fun though!

Donavon just got back from Philiadelphia for a house of delegates meeting for the American Podiatric Medical Student Association. He was there for 3 days and had a very fun time . In May he was elected President-Elect of his school. That means next year he will be President. He has 3 meetings a year all over the U.S. so he is excited to travel, meet new people and put his name out there! He Loved being in Philly, although he has been in the desert too long because he said it was WAY too humid. They went to an Eagle’s game, ate some Philly cheese stake sandwiches, saw Rocky (well ok, only the statue,) went sight seeing, and went to MANY meetings.

Last weekend I went to a reunion with my college friends in Cali and here are a few pictures from our fun weekend. It was so great to see everyone again and I am now the only married friend without kids! I can't believe it...we really need to get on the ball! They are all so cute and I miss them all already! None of these pictures will be in order and I'm sad that one of them is sideways but you get the picture. (I changed to rotated the picture but when I posted it it was still sideways...sad day)
